Chandelier Installation

chandelier installationIf you want to add style, elegance, and beauty to any room, you just have to add a chandelier. However, a heavy chandelier installation can be a real challenge. You can handle heavy chandelier installation especially if you have your ceiling braced. When you add a brace to your ceiling, it is not something that is hard, but it will depend on if you have access to your attic or if you have to cut an opening into the ceiling.

However, there are some professionals that can handle heavy chandelier installation of all types, small and big, low and high. Chandeliers are not just for formal areas in your home. Chandeliers can now be found in closets, music rooms, home offices, kitchens, bathrooms, and even bedrooms.

Chandeliers

An electrician can remove any type of existing chandelier or existing light fixture and then check the bracing and existing power. They can then assemble and install your brand new chandelier where you want it.

High Ceilings and Heavy Chandelier Installation

installing a chandelierMany chandeliers will need to be installed using a ladder and up to 3 different electricians. Ceiling height and chandelier size should not stop an electrician from installation. New bracing for a heavy chandelier installation will be done, and they will then be fitted with an electric hoist, which allows you to be able to clean and change the lightbulbs easier. There are some times for installation that scaffolding might be needed to accommodate multiple electricians.

Installation and Repair of Antique Chandeliers

Your electrician will be able to install, refurbish and retrofit flea market finds, heirloom, and antique chandeliers anywhere in your home.

Steps to Chandelier Installation

chandelier installationAn electrician will find the location where you want to install your chandelier and then place a nail in that area to mark it. A brace will be installed to handle your chandelier.

They will then measure the distance between joists, and the brace will be cut to fit between these joists in your ceiling. A metal hook will be attached to the center of the board.

The brace is then attached using an L bracket on the top and bottom of the board, which ensures that the brace will be stable. The metal hook should be on the bottom facing down.

Then a small hole will be cut into the ceiling that will allow the hanger and wire to fit through so that the chandelier can be hung.

Now a junction box will be added so that the wiring for the chandelier will be located within the corner where the wood boards meet at the joist. This box is then secured using wood screws, which keeps everything in place.

Your electrician will then run all of the wirings for the chandelier based on the requirements from the manufacturer and building codes that are in your area.

Lastly, the electricians will then hang the chandelier on the hook that is attached to the wooden brace. The power will be turned off, and the electrician will then attach the chandelier wires to the junction box, which will provide power to the chandelier.
